Online Tutoring - an emering knowledge-service industry

Here , I would like to have a short introduction about the "Online Tutoring " industry emerging in the low-cost developing countries , like India .

Basically , tutoring services are being outsourced in this industry . It can be called " TSO" , tutoring service outsourcing bearing its similarity with BPO , KPO , LPO , etc . The industry is at a very nascent stage even in India .

Tutoring service can be outsourced in 2 ways :

( 1) Insatnt Tutoring , where the tutor interacts with the student through an interface called WhiteBoard .

(2) e-mail assignment help , where the tutor solves the problem set sent by the student and send it back to him within the deadline .

The industry is presently driven by the low-cost advantage that India has. Also , the high proportion of graduates produced by Indian Universities makes it easy for the companies to find skilled tutors .

The present market size is only $15 million , it it is expected to increase manifold within the coming 5-7 years .
